Around the Farm: April 8, 2013
The Indians system was showing off a bit of their offense on Monday, as several Indians prospects showed off their skills with multiple hits. Today's ATF will say hello to the two top non-pitching prospects in the system, as well as the two last #1 picks. The pitching played a part on Monday as well, although the prospects aren't as prominent. Jim Pete takes you around the farm.

Pronk-led Yankees top Tribe in home opener
New York second baseman Robinson Cano hit his first two home runs of the season and Travis Hafner had four runs batted in against his former team, as Cleveland dropped its home opener at Progressive Field 11-6. The IBI's Nathan Kemp recaps a disappointing day all around for the Indians.

The Indians home opener is here! For one day every year the entire city and Cleveland region pays attention to the Indians, and that day is today. In what is an annual holiday for many baseball fans, the Indians get their home season underway, and to make it extra special the hated Yankees are in town. With the opener just a few hours away, Tony provides some interesting facts about the home opener and more!

Second Thoughts Game #6: Indians 13, Rays 0
The Cleveland Indians rebounded from their two losses to start off the Rays' series in a big way by exploding for 13 runs. #1 starter Justin Masterson led the way to an Indians shutout, going seven strong innings, and the Tribe built some steam as they roll into Cleveland to take on the New York Yankees in their home opener. Around the Farm: April 7, 2013
It's good to be back in the saddle here at ATF, as we take a look at Sunday's performances from accross the system. The Akron Aeros got a massive boost offensively by the top of their order, who absolutely hit the cover off the ball. The Mudcats swept the Dash in High A action and Joey Wendle brought out his whipping stick to help carry his team. Join Jim Pete as he takes you around the Indians organization.

Indians slam Rays 13-0 to avoid sweep
The Cleveland Indians faced off against the Tampa Bay Rays looking at the potential of not only being swept in their second series of the year, but had yet to score a run against the dominant Rays pitching. Enter Justin Masterson, who proved to be a stopper as the Indians avoided the sweep by returning the shut-out favor to the Rays in dominating fashion, winning 13-0.

2013 MLB Mock Draft 1.0
The draft season is in full swing and the MLB Draft is just a matter of weeks away. As teams frantically scatter their scouts across the country to get second, third and fourth looks at several college and high school players, IBI draft guru Jeff Ellis steps in with his first 2013 Mock Draft. There are some intriguing names at the top of the draft, and the Indians should get a blue chip player with their #5 pick this year.

Tribe Happenings: An up and down week from the rotation
In this week's Tribe Happenings, Tony reviews the week that was for the Indians starting five in the rotation and wonders if we learned anything from each starter getting one start and if there are any encouraging signs or some areas of concern. Second Thoughts Game #5: Rays 6, Indians 0
The Indians lost a rough one to the Rays on Saturday night by a score of 6-0. They were shut out for the second straight game, Trevor Bauer really struggled with his control, and Lou Marson took a shot at home plate that he is still probably recovering from this morning. The IBI's Jim Berdysz chimes in with his "Second Thoughts" on last night's ugly loss.

Indians fall 6-0 in Trevor Bauer's debut
Right-hander Trevor Bauer made his Indians debut on Saturday though is performance was less than spectacular as he walked seven batters across five innings of work. To make matters worse, the Indians' offense struggled to consistently get men on base, and the Tribe lost its third straight game, 6-0, to the Tampa Bay Rays. Join the IBI's Nathan Kemp as he recaps all of the action from Saturday's contest.

Minor Happenings: Naquin shines in Carolina debut
The first edition of Minor Happenings each year typically does not post until the first Thursday after the season opens, but there is a lot to talk about and get everyone caught up on. In today’s special edition of the Happenings, I give an update on Tony Wolters’ move to catcher, introduce Robert Whitenack, break down Tyler Naquin’s great opening night showing, and have all kinds of quotes from the front office on the catchers in the system and where some of the missing players are to start the season.
