Sailing with the Clippers: 4/11/13 - 4/17/13
The Columbus Clippers have finished their second week of the season going 3-3 and bringing their overall record to 7-6. The Clippers welcomed the Indianapolis Indians and Louisville Bats to Columbus after traveling to both their stadiums a week prior, but the unpredictable Midwest weather postponed a few games. The IBI's Cameron Weimer recaps the week that was for the Clip Show...

Minor Happenings: Wendle is proving to be a legit prospect
Today’s Happenings focus in on the hot start of High-A Carolina second baseman Joey Wendle and Triple-A Columbus right-handed pitcher Fernando Nieve. How much is Wendle rising up the prospect ranks? Could Nieve be an option in Cleveland? Tony touches on that and also looks at the impressive approach that Low-A Lake County first baseman Nellie Rodriguez is showing, the clutch performance of Double-A Akron first baseman Jesus Aguilar, and much more on players like Tim Fedroff, Chun Chen, Owen Dew, Ryan Merritt and more.

Jose Ramirez keeps hitting as he moves up the ladder
When you think of the prototypical baseball player, a few images probably come to mind: tall, muscular, fast, top physical condition, etc. In other words, baseball players are not supposed to look like you, me, and Jose Ramirez. Ramirez is roughly my size at 5’9”, 165 pounds and generally does not fit the stereotype of a baseball player, but the IBI's Jim Piascik loves his potential and recently had a chance to sit down and talk with him about his success to date.

Second Thoughts Game #13: Red Sox 6, Indians 3
With memories (nightmares?) of Ubaldo Jimenez going through their heads, fans turned to Justin Masterson to try to tame the Boston Red Sox. That plan did not go so well, as the Red Sox knocked around the head of the Cleveland rotation, constantly finding holes in the defense and touching him for his first loss of the season. Nick Swisher and Jason Giambi tried to make the game interesting with their power, but it was too little, too late. Join Michael Goodman as he gives his Second Thoughts on Wednesday night's 6-3 loss.

Around The Farm, April 17, 2013
The Akron Aeros headlined the action down on the farm last night, as Tyler Holt, Giovanny Urshela, Jesus Aguilar, and friends headed an offensive charge that led to 10 runs and a win. The Lake County Captains also won, somehow scoring seven runs on five hits (only one of which went for extra bases). Columbus and Carolina lost thanks to some suspect pitching, but there were still encouraging performances to enjoy. Join Jim Piascik as he takes you through the good and the bad as he goes Around The Farm.

Indians, Masterson fall to Red Sox 6-3
Still carrying heavy hearts, the Boston Red Sox also carried with them a heavy dose of offense for the second straight game, as they defeated the Tribe Wednesday night, 6-3. Coming into the ballgame with a 19 scoreless inning streak, Indians starter Justin Masterson came down from his early season dominance as the right-hander suffered his first loss of the season. Join Jim Berdsyz as he recaps the action from Wednesday, after the jump...

The Radar Report: 2013 Volume 1
The "Radar Report" returns this week, and Tony shares almost three dozen radar readings from players in the Indians' system that he has recorded over the past few weeks. Waving goodbye to Ubaldo Jimenez at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario?
The hope for Ubaldo Jimenez to have a solid season has left the Corner of Carnegie after the enigmatic righty walked five, threw 59 pitches and gave up seven runs in 1 2/3 innings on Tuesday night. What will the Indians do now that their spring training project has regressed to perhaps his worst start since joining Cleveland? Is it time to cut their ties and move on, or can Jimenez give the Indians any value going forward?

On-Deck with the Captains: 4/10/13 - 4/16/13
Week two of the Lake County Captains season is in the books and the results were similar to the first week. The Captains’ offense continued to struggle and errors proved costly as the pitching staff couldn’t put a stop to the bleeding. Join the IBI's Stephanie Metzger as she runs down and recaps another week that was for the Captains...

Second Thoughts Game #12: Red Sox 7, Indians 2
Cleveland we have a problem. Once again Ubaldo Jimenez took the hill for the Indians, and once again he put up another poor showing, and last night might have been his worst one yet. The IBI's Jake Dungan shares his "second thoughts" on Jimenez and wonders if there are any solutions at the moment, and he also talks about the lack of clutch hitting and more.

Around the Farm: April 16, 2013
Today, Jerrud Sabourin was named the Cleveland Indians' minor league player of the week. You have to wonder what meant more to the Muddies' first baseman, that award, or his daily appearances here at ATF. Sabourin wasn't in the marquee tonight because of an outstanding appearance by T.J. House of the Akron Aeros. Can House take the next step in his development? Joind Andrew Zajac with another edition of ATF.

Jimenez struggles as Indians fall 7-2 to Red Sox
Ubaldo Jimenez was on the mound again for the Indians on Tuesday, but the only consistent thing about Jimenez's performances so far has been inconsistency and that was again the case on Tuesday. The right-hander walked five batters in one inning, and the Tribe never recovered, losing 7-2 to the Boston Red Sox. Join the IBI's Nathan Kemp as he recaps all the action from what was a night that many Tribe fans would rather soon forget.

Launching Off With The Aeros: 4/9/13 – 4/15/13
Things could have been better for the Akron Aeros over the past week, with the team dropping five of their six games and falling to the bottom of the Eastern League. The pitching was the culprit for the Aeros, as the team allowed almost a run an inning. Almost no offense in baseball can make up for that, even though Akron's offense did a decent job. To see who was hot in Akron and who was not, check out Launching Off With The Aeros, after the jump...
